THE STARFISH STORY
(Original story by: Loren Eiseley)
One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.
Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?”
The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.”
“Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!”
After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said…” I made a difference for that one.”
A CHANGED LIFE CHANGING LIVES
My personal mission is to help transform young lives; from despair to hope; from helplessness to being empowered and from being indifferent to having a deep passion for God. My heart goes out especially to juvenile delinquents, having been one myself, with much empathy and understanding of what they have and would be going through. Just like the boy who made the difference by picking up that starfish, I want to make a difference in these young lives, one young person at a time, loving them as Jesus loves them.
My story is one of a changed life changing lives, and it is my desire that this will in turn impact their very own lives and sparking a change in their families, their schools, their friends and their generation.
